Cricket

Discipline: Cricket

Cricket is a team bat-and-ball sport in which the sides alternate between batting and fielding. Batters score runs, while the fielding side uses bowling, catching, and wicket-taking to limit the total and dismiss the opposing players. The result is determined by the runs and wickets recorded across the agreed innings.

At Paris 1900, cricket was contested through a single two-day match. The Devon and Somerset Wanderers faced the Union des Sociétés Françaises de Sports Athlétiques at the Vélodrome Municipal de Vincennes on 19–20 August. The Wanderers won by 158 runs after the French side was dismissed shortly before the scheduled close.

This is the only Olympic edition represented by this event series.
